I had Thomthom's selection toys. The plugin is missing now. Also, it appears others are missing, which one, I don't know now, will have check it out. There are gaps in my toolbar.

So, if you install 2021, does that make some plugins disappear?

I have been busy and hadn't fired up Sketchup for some time. It's retirement time.

Each major release runs independently alongside other major releases. When installing a new major release, you have to install the extensions for that release from fresh again.

Most of the time the extensions work as expected, however there are times when they don't (when the Ruby API was updated) as such it is good practice to install extensions from fresh (no copying, etc.) and use the latest available versions.

Keep in mind when the Ruby API is updated and something appears to be broken in extensions, it could take time for that developer to play catch-up and update it to be compatible again, however sometimes this never happens.

That not my problem. I installed the plugins after installing version 2021. And the plugin was there and I was using the plugins. There was an update, and I haven't used Sketchup that much. However, now that I am using Sketchup again, the selection plugin by Thomthom is missing. Going, not there, missing, not just not working. I didn't uninstall the plugin. And the plugin DeepSelect, when I am try to use this plugin, the selections are greyed out.

Extensions won't just go missing or disappear. It requires that the user either disable or uninstall them to make them go away.

As for the grayed out menu items, it could be an issue with the latest release of SU2021 which results in context menu items being grayed out and not selectable after some number of right clicks. Closing SketchUp and reopening it will fix it temporarily. The developers are working on a solution which they say should be released soon.

Edit a few minutes later: A new release of SU 2021 is now out. It includes a fix for the grayed out context menu thing.

Thanks Dave, for the update. I used the selection plugin all the time. With the down turn in oil production, I have actually retired. So, work with Sketchup is getting slim.

Just updated. Now the greying out in the Deep Select has been fixed. However, now Deep Select doesn't work correctly.

Before when I used Deep Select on a pipe, and selected edges only, I would get the two ends. Now, I get all the edges, even the hidden ones.

As shown in the below file. I got to move on and finish.

Perhaps you need to contact the author of Deep Select and see if there's an update for it. I don't use it so can't comment.
