My laptop just can't handle it anymore. SketchUp has become almost unusable among other issues. (I'm waiting for it to unfreeze as I type this)

I need a new laptop, but have a limited budget. Well, no budget actually, but I can at least start looking.

It has to be Windows laptop.

So what does everyone recommend? What are the minimum specs I can get away with?

      Thanks.

Are you opposed to refurb units? My spare laptop at work, Asus N550J is still rolling right along. I don't use it as often as I did but it runs all my current CAD/3D software just fine.
It has a 4th gen i7-4710HQ, 16 gb ram, 512 ssd and a GTX 850M. It came with Windows 8.1 but it runs Win10 Pro just fine. Maybe something like that? Sure a refurb is always a gamble ๐Ÿ˜ž

A Dell gaming laptop, 7th gen i5 and gtx 1060. It needs more ram and a bigger hard drive. I don't know what you have so those might be below what you have and need.

I have nothing against refurbs. I love refurbs! They are usually the best bargains and all the bugs have been worked out!!! ๐Ÿ‘

What I have right now is a 9 yo i5, with 8GB RAM and 2GB video, all with 2+year old drivers that can no longer be updated. Not even the BIOS. For simple chores, it's fine, but starting to struggle. For SketchUp and video editing, it's done for. ๐Ÿ˜†

In fact, a refurb was what I was going looking for when I could afford it.
