Texturing Geodesic faces
-
Hello,
I use Sketchup Make 2017 and I am trying to make the Geodesic shape polygon faces get a repetitive motif just like in the architectural structure in the photo below.
I tried Fredo Tools (ThruPaint) with many texture options but could not get it to work.
Is there a plugin that can do this mapping repetition?
Also, I am wondering how the texture should look like (with the bright color on the edge) to make it work on the 3D shape.
Thanks

You could try:
- Make components out of the same parts and reassemble geode, then texture one component.
- Use Wrapr plugin (there is a trial) and unwrap geode, export UV as a picture, open it in Photoshop like app and make a texture for geode.
- Export geode as obj or fbx, open it in Blender, unwrap there and use either Blender to texture geode or go the same as second suggestion.

You can also use the free TwinMotion 2019 for a real simulation of your Model! (but go speed next version will be paying)
Line to tube by Didier Bur or Latticeizer by Tig for the dome
You have a lot of dome by TaffGoshThen in TwinMotion select tubes/ Structure and apply a Neon light on the structure and a Transparent material on the glass!
Result will be more nice than a texture and a lot more easy than using Blender!

Thank you all for thehelp! I am trying Latticeizer now and it seems working well, however, is there a way to make Sketchup and the plugin ignore the hidden faces and work only with the polygon traced by the visible lines to have the same effect as the photo? For all the lines, visible or not are processed by the plugin.
