Plugin similar to "Round Corners" but for planar surfaces?
-
Well, yes and no. First, I didn't know the "Follow me" tool could be used this way, so thanks for teaching me that!
And I'd like the "crevice" to follow a line drawn on a surface (or mutliple surfaces), no matter its direction, just like in the screenshot below. And let's suppose I want the "crevice" on a cylinder, your technique can't work because I would not be able to draw the crevice's section on the edge of the solid (if you know what I mean).

I agree it would be a useful tool and something that would fit nicely in Fredos collection.
Just pointing out there are generally simple ways to accomplish things that may have gone unnoticed.
Follow me would work on your first image and as for a cylinder I would draw the profile of the whole cylinder and use follow me or do this>

True, there are lots of ways to acheive a single thing usually.
But creating a crevice along a line like this, on a surface like this is a real pain with SketchUp native tools...

Here's a little tip, you can use a path outside a group for follow me. Note the part off screen is Edit Group.
Try this method on your shape, and draw your profile perpendicular to a segment of the path, it may not work but worth a try.As I say I don't disagree, it would be a good tool.

Tried your advice, didn't work as expected... Thanks though, I'll definitely use this trick on simpler geometry!

Was worth a try.
It's a nice Extension request. -
All the tricks described above are too tedious. We are doomed to mess till eventually some magician will deliver shiny Groove maker
The most wanted for me, requested it many times -

Some ideas here

SDMitch Bevelmaker looks great, but looks like it doesn't work in recent SketchUp versions...
Thanks for the link pilou, now I understand why such plugin does not exist!
