Extension updating

A notice pops up when I start SU, telling me that four extensions need to be updated.
If I select these extensions, three out of the four tell me:
"Failed to update xxx, Unable to read extension archive."What's with this? Where is it looking for the archive(s)?
How do I insure that extensions are installed correctly, that is, will update properly in the future?

from within SU:
sign out of your SketchUp / Trimble account
sign back in from within SketchUp.
if that doesn' work try closing and reopening SU in between the two steps above.
