FlightPath successor?

Frequently for work I create flythrough animations of models I've put together to show off the model or space I've created. Given that SketchUp's default algorithm for calculating the camera flight path between scenes can be, well, unpredictable - sometimes taking a roller-coaster flight through the floor and around again instead of a direct point A to point B path - I made frequent use of the FlightPath 2 plugin.
Unfortunately, FP2 doesn't work on '16 or '17 so I have to keep a copy of '15 running on my computer in addition to '17 as it doesn't seem like the author has any intent to update the plugin (and I can't code my way out of a paper bag to try and fix it myself).
So....is there a plugin available that functions similarly to FlightPath in that I can dictate a specific path for the camera to follow (with the direction it's facing being a discrete path), or has SketchUp finally implemented meatier camera controls that I haven't discovered yet?

With MShysics you can define freeform paths within Curvy Piston joints. One for the camera an on for the target object. You can adjust or code the speed of both objects. Define the complete rest of the model as ignored objects and with a simple camera script you can fly through and use the MSPhysics Replay functions to render the frames of the film.

Future Animator by Fredo will have that or simulate it!
