Resource for floor plans?

Hi,
I want to create houses from floor plans to add to my portfolio. I know there are tons of floor plans online, but most of them are for sale. I am not quite sure if it is legit to recreate some of them and use on my portfolio.
Does anyone know of a place where I can use floor plans to practice and add to my portolio?

What is your experience, training, education?
With CAD software just about anyone can create floor plans. But do you actually know what you are drawing?
As a former Architectural Instructor and presently an Intern Architect and Architectural Designer I do work for both residential clients and architects who use my services for drafting and design to produce SD's, DD's & CD's.
So asking where you can get floor plans to create houses to add to your portfolio, are you simply copying plans or actually building models from work you personally have created?
