SketchFX visualization extension released
-
We just released SketchFX visualization extension, you can try it out here.
SketchFX makes it possible to combine different SketchUp styles and scenes, filtering, and a variety of image based effects in one click. What was a time consuming task done in Photoshop can be scripted directly inside SketchUp.
Filters and effects include: Bloom, Water Color, Motion Blur, Depth of Field, and many others.

that as a question I had as well, just scroll down a little on the page linked...
-
Impressive! I wonder if it could be merged with Thea Overlay interactive render.
-
Thanks for the interest in our plugin.
Pixero: Lite version has some missing effects compared to Pro version (bloom, depth of field, fog and scene transition). We made it clearer on our website
JQL: at the moment what you can do is render separately with 3rd party softwares, save an image and use it inside SketchFX

Do the effects work with animation inside SketchUp or are they for still images only?
Meaning, can I run a animation in SU view with the effects on and can I rotate the view with the effects on? -
Pixero, yes you can run an animation with most of the effects on. Only the following operations are incompatible with animation: "Image from scene", "Image from scene transition" and "Style". The reason is that the first two manipulate the animation in order to get the effect. The "Style" effect could be updated to support animation.

We just added a SketchFX specific forum to add feature request, show your work in progress and report bugs

We just released a new version of SketchFX that allows to use AmbientOcclusion extension to render ambient occlusion layers directly inside SketchFX. You can get it here.

Version 1.0.4 has just been released and can be found on SketchFX download page. The main new feature is custom rendering resolution; this is a standard 1024px wide rendering compared to a 4096px wide one (and rescaled to 1024px):

Hmmm.....has trouble exporting in print resolution size (e.g. 4500 x 1890). Just freezes up.

Can you please contact us privately?
http://www.fluidinteractive.com/products/sketchup-extensions/sketchfx/contact/Then we'll ask you to send us the model so we can take a look.
Maybe it just takes long to render, since the resolution is very high. -
Version 1.0.10 has just been released and can be found on SketchFX download page.
We’ve been working hard on optimizing SketchFX and removing bottlenecks, resulting in a 3x speedup in many cases.

Is that native output you're showing, or is there some post pro involved?
-
Hi juju,
the first image is native output. About the second one, it can be done entirely within SketchFX, but I've to ask to our client if he used any postprocessing. -
Hi Juju,
I've contacted Benjamin Naudet, the author of the second image. He just had to create a clipping mask in Photoshop because he was unaware that SketchFX had that feature, it was one of his first attempts with our plugin.Alberto
