The native Select Instances accessed from the Components window will only select instances of a component in the current context. Is there a plugin that would select instances whether they are in the current context or not? I'd like to be able select all instances of a given component and replace them even if some of the instances are children inside nested components/groups.

Use case example: A drawer case with drawers of various sizes. Each drawer is a nested component and is a different size but all use the same drawer pull. It would be nice to be able to replace all the pulls in one swell foop instead of having to open each nest in turn.

I think ThomThom's Selection Tools and Smustard/Rick Wilson's Instances may be able to do this.

            Something like this?

Nothing is worthless, it can always be used as a bad example.

Maybe. That seems easy enough, too.

My ideal version of it would use thumbnails and allow me to pick components from my local libraries as the "replacer" like the Components window can do now.

                TT selection tools:

right click an instance/select all (or select active)/ component window/right click the replace component/replace.

                works with scaled components.

                Edit:
select active works only in the same context.
