From Sketchup to Illustrator
-
Hi, I am new to sketchup. I have a simple 2D model I want to cut with a cmc router. The router only accepts illustrator files. I have only the SU Make 2015 version and already spent my Pro demo time so I cannot export as .ai files. I am exporting as .skp, opening it in Rhino demo and exporting as an .ai file to open in Illustrator CS5. Everything goes fine except that in illustrator my paths are made of many little paths or lines and the cnc router won´t cut it well that way. It needs full closed and complete paths, not many little lines making a figure. I tried to weld (weld plugin) and group in SU, join in Rhino, and have had no success. I still end up with a lot of little lines in Illustrator. And I haven´t been able on how to join them in Illustrator. The join command there won´t do it. Thanks in advance.
