I wish Layout had Vector Patterns or Hatching... Raster is ok, but Vector would be better.

I wish SketchUp would have vector hatches instead of LO. I prefer to keep the amount of added elements in layout as low as possible.

I could live with manual tracing, but a flood fill method and the ability to set the origin when placing would be ideal.

It would be useful in SU to show hatching in perspective scenes; I would prefer to see it in LO first though.

we have vectored hatching in sketchup via the hatch plugin.

LO needs to provide the ability to easily form holes in the current fill or any vector fill before it is truly useable. I wanted to pattern fill a tiled roof and realized to form openings for all the roof features was going to take forever so I went back to SU to place the pattern.

I did a drawing set a while back with hatches using Layout's Patterns and it looked good, but the guy I was working with and the print shop were both unable to open the pdf to print or even look at it. They would take a long time to open on my computer. I think the way the patterns are saved into printed pdfs must not be optimal for hatching drawings and needs work.
Vectors would be nice but as Kaas points out, this would be so much better as a Sketchup feature; assign a .pat to a solid group and the pat magically appears in the section cut, kind of like what Skalp does.

                    This would be way better!

But I wish both of them had vector patterns! SVG would be good enough but dwg, svg, pdf, a native su 2d pattern like skv (instead of skm) would be also nice!

Limited don't you think? Even those vectors style display are harsh if you thicken profiles...
