Instead of determining how many segments I want my circle or arc to have, I would like to choose a segment length... Say 1'-0"? You get the idea... I pull the circle and however many segments @ 1'-0" it takes to make the circle is what you get. I understand that the circle size will be determined by segment length and that certain sizes won't be possible with certain segment lengths, that's fine.

Does something like this already exist? Can or should it be made?

I recall an 'ngon' plugin that added extra sides of fixed length as you drew it out...
i.e it stayed at 4 until big enough for 5 etc...
may have been raw code, but it was on here...

          TIG's arcBy plugin?

not sure about doing it with a circle though.. very very few circles (relatively speaking) will have an equal number of predetermined segment length.

I made this DC in response to a question on the SketchUp community about "Generating a 2D irregular polygon for a geodesic floor plan"

you can easily check the radius for a number of sides for a given length, then match the circle properties to suit

Very few is right, but those are the ones I want. It's very efficient in my curved walls to have 1 foot lengths of straight wall.

I would change design to have them often...

Thanks... I'll give it a try.
