Dynamic Components Door Formula

Iv'e been trying to wrap my head around dynamic components for weeks now, I understand what they are but I have no clue on what kind of formula I would need. I need to learn this for work, I work for a cabinet company and I'm making a catalogue for the designers to make their designs faster. I would need to master dynamic Components in order to do this so they can stretch the doors and cabinets properly. Please Help!
