Large terrain

Hi
I mostly use Autocad civil 3D and Gemini terrain for design of roads. In addition, I use Sketchup to create simple concrete structures. Gemini terrain I use to create terrain based on large point clouds > 1 000 000 points without problem. How much can Sketchup handle? I try to import clouds of approximately 500 000 point, but it works poorly.
