Afternoon Doodle
-
Just thought I'd post a little doodle from this afternoon. Mostly did this for myself to get dimensions to take to the shop. Let this render go while I was cutting parts. This is a folding table to mount on the front of the rail at the steering pedestal on my sailboat. The white table is an existing thing I scavenged from an anesthesia machine. I'm adding the fold out cup holders to it. The darker pieces will be teak but since I didn't have good teak texture, I substituted a ribbon mahogany. The lighter pieces are black cherry. They'll darken and get redder with exposure to the sun.
Rendered in Kerkythea.

Looks much more convincing than our solution...
-
Looks like it works although I'd probably break that bottle with the winch handle.
-
Nice work David, certainly a tidy solution. Though I think you guys are just trying to show off that you have boats!
-
Thank you Richard. You could have a boat too. With Sydney Harbor at hand, you could get yourself an 18 footer and race it.
-
Nice job. Wish I could knock out such a realistic render. Of course I think a real "doodle" needs to be pointless, at least at first. You might be too industrious for doodling, Dave.
-
Dave, that would be cool, bugger though is storing it! That's probably about $5,000 a year here!
-
You could keep an 18 Footer in your garage.
-
Mate, If I had room in my garage I'd throw in a Bouldering wall
-
I would be beefing up those hinges Dave, they wouldn't stand a chance if your crew are anything like mine. I would consider strap hinges laid horizontally, (like a card table setup).

Great design and render,
