Been a while, so here's something new(ish) from me.

The buildings and ship are SU, the rest is Photoshop. The two foreground figures were provided by another artist and comp'd in by me. This piece isn;t 100% finished, but the project it was done for has hit the rocks, so I'm leaving it as it stands πŸ˜„

      Thanks for looking!

      Cheers,

      A

        that pretty neat Andy.

is the landscape somehow drawn in photoshop? or is that a background you've obtained from elsewhere then comp'd other images into?

          what? crazy

how much time do you spend in photoshop with an image like this? is it more than you had to do in sketchup?

Thanks Jeff. The landscape is comprised of around 30 photographs, with a lot of hand-painting in photoshop to fill in the gaps. I'd say about 70% / 30% photos/painting. I used a rough version of this as background in SU to arrange the house and ship models, then exported jpegs from this, and did a lot of the final texturing of them in Photoshop. Then lots more detail painting, colour-corrections etc.

This was to have been used as a large-format print, so was produced at hi-res, around 8000px wide. So the details were a lot more visible than I'm used to πŸ˜•

            cheers,

            A.

Yeah, to be honest the SketchUp time was probably only about an hour or two, So less than 10% of the total time I spent on this. As such, not really a proper SketchUp project at all, but I thought you guys here might appreciate it anyway πŸ˜„

Another one from the same project. SU was used to model the fore-ground armour (roughly!) axes, and a few other bits and pieces. The rest was Photoshop and ArtRage.
