Advice on good php editor program

Hi All,
I'm searching for a good - and if possible free - php editor program...
I've been using Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 for many years, but for some reason it won't start on my laptop...
So I thought that some of you knowledgeable people in here have some good advice on what to use and what not to...
I'm aware that Notepad++ can do it... A simple notepad editor can do it, but I would prefer to have a "real" php editor...
All advices are greatly appreciated...!

I just use notepad++... it's a pain...
