Sketchup Model/Vue Render
-
Hi all,
its been a while since I have posted...here is a recent project that I completed. It is for the Plant Environmental Research Center (PERC) of a large university. The entire PERC operation may be relocated to this location in the future, so the Greenhouse facility is a proposed building (the architect and the university were my client), and the site is shown as being redeveloped for research sites ranging from crops to research trees to wetlands to water quality areas.
Model was built in Sketchup (Greenhouse began as floorplans in CAD), and the rendering was done in Vue Infinite. As always, comments welcome!

I wish we got to see more Vue renders... looks really good. I think their plant life is the best.

Looks great. The only thing that needs improving, IMHO, is your gray paving material (asphalt?) - it's too monolithic and clean looking. Needs some weathering and age.

Thanks for the comments.
Yeah I agree on the paving-good catch! I was considering adding some vehicles too for scale, which may have helped, but the focus needed to be on the architecture of the building and the use of the project site.
As for Vue, the main reasons I love using it are the vegetation tools (ecosystems, solid growth plants, etc.) and the terrain editing tools (although I created the terrain for this project in SketchUp).

Wonderful! My first leaning/learning in design involved the UCSC farm project--somewhat more "organic" in concept and realization. But takes me back (wish I were involved in more work like this). Great work. Post more often!
