I have asked on various FB/SU pages, and never gotten the courtesy of a reply. Hoping you can help. I have numerous plugin links available that I would like to use, but which file & how to get them actually into SU is the problem. Can you help me out (step by dummy step) on this.
      Thank you.

Another question I have is regarding a good source for plugin downloads. A lot of those I see on the face book SU sites come with so much spam/junk, that they're not worth the trouble and hours spent cleaning/debugging your computer afterwards. Is there any one, trustworthy site for downloads?

Install the Sketchucation store plugin, you'll find a link to it at the top of the page, under Resources/Plugin store download.
This lets you auto install and manage a huge number of plugins directly within sketchup.
The other main place is the Extension Warehouse which you can get to from within sketchup or via a browser.

You can also install plugins from Sketchup's own site, http://extensions.sketchup.com/. In Sketchup 2013+ you can even reach this from within Sketchup in the Windows menu (on pc, don't know what it's called on Mac).

Your profile indicates you're using SketchUp 8. If you upgrade to 2014, you'll get automatic access to a feature called the "Extension Warehouse". As eneroth3 cited, you can use the Extension Warehouse to install plugins directly within SketchUp. That takes all of the guesswork out of it and makes plugin installation dead-simple!
