Space Navigator and Mac OS 10.9 (Mavericks)

I am a newbee to this forum. I have been using SketchUp 8 on my 2009 MacPro (Snow Leopard OS 10.6.8) with a
Space Navigator without any issues. I have now updated my OS to Mavericks (10.9.1) and decided to upgrade
to SketchUp 2013. Well....the space navigator is not working. I did download the latest driver from 3Dconnection's web site but can't seem to get it to work. Is there a compatibility issue or have I just screwed things up? Can anyone point me in the right direction to get this thing to work?Thanks

I have the same problem with Sketchup 2014 but on Windows 8.1?
