Sketchup Sections

I really appreciate how you can take multiple sections cuts by nesting groups and components. However, I recently tried to take three sections cuts of one object by artificially nesting as necessary to make this possible. On the third cut, the second section cut would lose functionality. The line of the cut is shown, but it isn't taking the section.
Any thoughts?
