Loosing fills, textures, and shadows on dwg exports
-
I needed to create some dwg files for a consultant. After exporting from Layout, the textures created in the model were missing as were the shadows in elevations and fills created in Layout. This was still a problem when raster and hybrid rendering. Is there a way to export dwg files without loosing textures, fills and shadows?

Hi Dave,
If that's the case then why is there a "ignore fills" option in the DWG/DXF export options box? That would suggest that fills can be exported.

Fills can be exported as solid hatches as you would see in Vector rendering.
You can export shadows and textures in Hybrid mode for dwg/dxf. Layout generates vector lines over the images. If you have multiple viewports on top of each other you have to be sure your cad program can handle png transparency or you'll get images on top of each other and you won't understand what's happening.
When you send the autocad file to someone else you have to include the image folder, or images on the same folder as DWG.
Hope this helps,
