Model Info window wont popup in SketchUp

Maybe I'm missing something simple, but I can't get the model info window to pop up.
I have been able to use it to set my dims for the drawing in previous projects but now I can't.
If I go to window --> model info it checks but nothing happens.
If I click the i in the tool bar a status msg says "activate model info window" shows but nothing. The model entity window does pop up properly. I have restarted the windows7 pc & I have also tried the same thing in sketchup 7 with same effect.
I feel like im missing the obvious here.

Did you try: window -> preferences -> Workspace -> Reset Workspace?

I bet you have a new monitor, or have changed your setup around recently. If that is the case and Carsten's suggestion doesn't work, try changing the position of your monitor, the model info window is probably hiding off screen.
