I am now getting files from work in Solid Works. I can convert the files to a Sketchup file, using SimLab 3DPDF 2014 (64 bit), however in this conversion, I get a series of nested components.

To make the file manageable in Sketchup, I need to go to each base component, use TIG SolidSolver, to eliminate Coplanar edges, and to eliminate nested components, where the nested component is the same component wrapped into another overlaying component. That is I get component that may be two to three deep on the same object. TIG SolidSolver also solves this problem.

I have a plugin that will exploded nested groups to the basic groups without exploding to raw geometry. However, this plugin will not work with components.

I found Matt666, C2G, which I was hoping would exploded all the components to groups, in which case I would be able to use the above plugin. However, the C2G causes a bugsplat each and every time. No info on why I am having the bugsplat is given.

Anyone else getting SolidWork files? And would you share how you get the SolidWork files into Sketchup.

Note, I found the program, SimLab 3DPDF 2014 (64 bit) to be a very good converter for Sketchup. Note, I have no monetary interest in SimLab, other than a user.

Thanks in advance for your help.
