Fix Your Plugins
-
Some people have had problems with sketchup plugins, like vray, not loading properly. The error is "Error Loading File VRayForSketchup.rb
126: The specified module could not be found. - C:/Program Files/Google/Google SketchUp 7/Plugins/VRayForSketchUp/VRayForSketchUp.so "The error has to do with the plugin wanting to use a dll that is not present. This is just a archive containing four dlls people have said fixed the problem, not all four of them different people have said different ones fixed it but I just put in all four.
The Fix: Fix your sketchup plugins by extracting these dlls into your C:/Windows/System32 folder. If you are running 64 bit some people have said that you need to extract to C:/Windows/SysWOW64 folder.
I take no credit for finding this solution, I'm just distributing it.
EDIT: Suspicious file removed. Please download original .dll's from the source at Microsoft:

Hi "No Thanks"
Could you rather pack the archives into a ZIP file than a 7Z and upload it straight here rather than rapidshare and such where poor people wishing to help need to wait and click here and there to finally find out they cannot even open your file?

I'm hesitant to let this post stay up. It's essentially advising people to install encrypted files into the Windows system folders. Whether t works or not, perhaps this is something that Vray should be fixing, not "no Thanks" via downloads of encrypted DLL's which could be potentially damaging.
I don't recommend anyone try it. If Vray is not working, contact the vray people. That's my thoughts...

Sorry it's hosted on the dowlnoad sites. I think I read another post on this forum saying your not supposed to put .dlls as attachements. This did work for me. And just incase you don't trust the .dlls I posted they are msvcr71, msvcp71, msvcp80 and msvcr80. So if you don't trust me you can just dowload them from another site like (link removed, see Dan's post below with a link to microsoft).
-
I don't think it's not trusting you but just generally speaking folks who don't know what they're doing, shouldn't "play" with them.
-
Sure it's more confortable to download from dll-files.com.
The solution worked here, msvcr71 and msvcp71 were missing.. Thanks a lot! -
i do all the steps and it doese not working
-
Get them DIRECT from Microsoft, .. no place else.
Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package (x86)
(see bottom of page for links to IA64 and x64 downloads.)

Would have been better to let this thread die rather than resurrect it, but good advice.
Low post-count member uploading potentially dubious files followed by praise posts by single post members. Has "danger" written all over it.

thanks a lot. u saved my life. I had exactly the same problem n nw my vray works.

Chris,.. it's time to remove the OP zip file. He never posted more than 4 times!
You can use the link in my post above to the MSVC runtime download.

we bundle the C++ redistributable with our installer, I don't see why this is necessary at all unless you installed V-Ray without having those redistributables checked in our installer (it's checked by default)
-
how to fix the same problem in mac os?
-
I've never seen this error with V-Ray, if you choose the correct install path, and use default installation options checked.
