      I often feel like I'm not learning enough... Like I could learn more if I had the money or opportunity. I don't have the money so let's talk about the opportunity.

      I'll start off with one that may be a bit of an example of jumping in the deep end.

      Massachusetts Institute of Technology's (MIT) opencourseware system whereby you get to take MIT courses for free. Albeit with no Professor to personally help you. MIT being one of the premier schools in the world, that's quite a deal.

      And this is a great resources of free type course offerings.

        Kris,

        I'd imagine most folks have enough trouble just trying to keep up with newly introduced processes, systems, products that are related to what they do. There is something new nearly every day! Then again, doing this is a form on continuing education in itself.

        In my case I am reading up on Passive House Design. There is a lot a stuff available on the Net. Check this out for example, PASSIVE DESIGN ORG http://passivedesign.org/ It goes from very basic stuff to quite complex construction methods.

        I will make a separate post on my thoughts on Passive House Design as I imagine there are a few folks here that may be interested in the subject.

        Mike

              Hi Kris,

              When I read this, I immediately thought of the continuing education requirements for architectural licensing. I typically do all my credits through http://continuingeducation.construction.com/
              but I'd be curious if there are other places that are a wee bit more interesting, and that give AIA credits.

                @Andy:
                This website is a significant resource for CEU for Architects.
                I have used it.

                    We have various manufacturer (elevators, lighting, windows, doors, flashing, etc.) always offering to come into the office and present a lunch-n-learn presentation, which usually offers 1-2 CEUs. We at least get a free lunch.
