Unselectable mesh?
-
Does anyone know what the deal with the attached scene is? Unselectable geo, can't move it anywhere. Exported as Collada and then reimporting it still exhibits the same problems.
I reported it to Trimble, but I don't think I've actually hear a response from them in 5 years of bug reports.

definitely some strange stuff there... you can select it in the outline window, but editing shows nothing in the component. that's because there is nothing in the component... there is no mesh. for some reason a remnant of geometry is left. and it can be deleted. The reason it's still there is because it's inside a component inside a group. why you can still see it I have no idea. It's almost as if it's component cache memory that never dumped..

As for Bug Reports I don't think they ever contact anyone... They take the info and use it or not. They investigate for a bug and then fix it. It's not a "help me" tool; it's a "help the software" tool for them. If you want personal support you need to come here (the best place for help) or contact them directly via google groups or email their company website.

There's something wrong with the component. You can get to select it if you turn on back edges. But it also seems to be very far from the origin, which always causes problems...and there appears to be some Z-fighting going on inside it, which would suggest one mesh placed exactly on top of another)
You need to select a single component, copy it to a new file, make sure that it's lined up on the origin, then explode it. I'd then delete all the faces...just to make sure that you don't have multiple instances of them, Z-fighting each other. Then rebuild a single face, create a new component and start from there. -
MRA, how was that created? What plugin made it?
