Mapping extruded text on curved surface

Hello,
Is there a way or a plugin to map an extruded text on a complex surface.
I mean I don't want to map a texture but to map a 3D text as shown below.

Would this work for you?
Top:I made a copy of the curved surface, then placed the extruded 3D text.
Middle: I used Joint Push/Pull to extrude the curved surface to the height of the extruded text.
Bottom: Then I put the two curved surfaces inside the text component, intersected and then deleted what I didn't want.
It would be wise to copy the text component and scale that copy up by a factor of 1000. Then do the intersection and deleting on the large copy.
