Boston!

I was really sickened, even massively infuriated when I saw the bombings. There was a young guy with both his legs blown off that they showed on the news by mistake, I was just speechless. I doubt it's just one individual who planned this, the bombs were identical and too coordinated. My heart goes out to the US.
Another thing I found sickening was the White House press release photo of "Obama being briefed". Why is this necessary? Does he have a photographer around ALL the time in case of a disaster? Do people need proof he answered a phone call? The image looks so contrived.
Yes, there are White House photographers that follows the president everywhere (not just Obama - Bush, Clinton, Bush 1, Reagan etc.) photographing everything. There is even an official White House Photo Office. http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/author/Pete%20Souza
I believe the only place they don't go is into the private residence, unless invited. And, yes, there are people who want to know what the President is/was doing at the time of a crises. Some out of a sense of reassurance, some for purely politically skeptical reasons.

According to the papers, the bombs contained metal shards, nails and bearing balls.
-
White smoke. Black powder pipe bombs? Wonder how they were detonated. Drove down 90E through town last night on the way back from NY, everything's still closed up with restricted access.
-
Maybe world peace is possible after all if this can happen. . .
-
Dzhokhar Tsarnaev on the run as of this time.
Tamerlan Tsarnaev deceased.
A family that bombs together... -
Like most criminals. . .Clever, but not smart. I guess.
The 19 year old kid was stupid.. He obviously didn't try to hide his hair or his enormous honker in anyway. The hat made him only easier to spot.
And why did they rob a 7-11 last night? It's one thing to have a holy cause for which you are willing to kill , maim and die. . . but when you need a Slurpee and Doritos . . .nothing else much matters. Just like for his brother, this will not end well for him. and the Problem with winding up in Hell . . .the Slurpee machine is always out of order. -
The more I hear it sounds like big brother was disconnected from the community and much of the American life. Also, people closer to them say that the little brother looked up to the big brother quite a bit. It's possible (not making excuses for it), that he was sucked in to his big brother's plot.
Still, how bright can you be if you kill innocent people, don't think about the fact that cameras are everywhere, and in that vein don't consider the possibility that you might be found quickly, don't take cash for the getaway and then need to rob a convenience store to make a getaway attempt.
Just stupid all around.

Caught one. The worst is over, but there's a long road ahead.
So incredibly sad.
-
windows 8 notified me the second bomber is captured

They should blow his legs off, see how he likes it.
Absolutely sickening act, the images will haunt me until the day I die.

While I'm all for getting the bad guy, I like my freedom, and it worries me this will be used as an excuse to take away more of it.

They should blow his legs off (...)
I understand the sentiment. I have similar feelings about, say, Dennis Rader. But let's hope 'they' don't. It's a slippery slope.

Yeah I've smelled it before...out in the bull pasture.

more bull! its only bull if you refuse to look at the other side of the story. Which the Media is not even concerned about. 1000 police officers against 2 suspects. The entire city of Boston on lock down, House to house searches, without search warrants. .....what could possibly go wrong with the official story. I hope the other suspect survives, I would like to hear the other side of the story, before I pass judgement.

FBI have a lot to answer for. They were asking the public who these guys were when they had already been interviewed by FBI and the older brother was refused citizenship.
tomot: since 9/11 they don't need a search warrant. Even if the crime is completely unrelated to terrorism. That's what the law is in the UK anyway, guess it's now the same over there.
-
I'm surprised it took this long for the conspiracy theorists to start.
-
They used to do that here a few years back, but somehow that got changed.
-
I wasn't stirring a conspiracy by the way, just stating a fact many people are unaware of.
Most people don't realise police can enter your house without your permission under the Terrorism Act. Even if you steal some chocolate from a shop (for example) they can search your house without a warrant or even physical evidence. You may be completely innocent but they can still turn your house upside down.
