Tips on hanging components flush to interior walls
-
Hi!!
I'm new to Sketchup. Currently I'm using it to build indoor and outdoor sport courts.
We have a component of wall pads to be hung on an interior wall. What's the best way to have them hung flush against the wall.
I've never worked with this program before....I've been at it about a month. Any help and tips would be appreciated.
Thanks so much

Sounds like you want to use component gluing. Are the pads "flush" to the wall surface or applied onto the wall?
You can just draw a pad lying flat on the ground (push pull a rectangle up from the ground for the thickness). Select all of it and make a component. In the Create a Component window, set gluing to "vertical". Look then at the object and you'll see the axes at one corner on the ground. That should be enough. Press OK.
Choose the component from the component browser. Note that the green axis of the component will be the up and down dimension when you "glue" the pad to the wall. After setting the first one, use move-copy to space more across the wall.
