Different with Free and Pro versions ?
-
Hi,
I'm new with Sketchup. First I downladed the Free version to try the software. There are many guides in youtube how to do things with Ketchup. Are those most for the free version? And what are the differencies with these two versions in practise. First I try to make precise retangle with 860 x 1900 mm. I follow the guide in Youtube (Precise Drawing in SketchUp), and gues what, I can't do it by my self! I draw a retangle and before I give up the cursor I write the dimensions and press return - BUT nothing happend ? What I have done wrong? I'm using Mac.

If you use this tool it should work when you write the dimensions and press return before or after you give up the cursor.

Hi Pepe,
It's probably yopur computer1s regional (non-English) settings.
On English systems, you type
860.0,1900.0but on other systems (where the comma is used as a decimal separator), you type860,0;1900,0(note that I added the decimals just in order that you see the full difference)As for the difference between the two versions, see here: http://www.sketchup.com/intl/en/product/whygopro.html
For quite a long time you can proceed learning without the need of the Pro.

It's also mentioned in the help center article Gilles linked to - only quite small print at the bottom...
