I just installed the latest Trimble SketchUp 8 and two things happened:

      1. It ported over the old plugins I installed for the old Google SketchUp
      2. I cannot install other plugins that I downloaded from the Plugin store

What should I do? Most of the plugins I downloaded are .rb files and SU8 simply won't recognise them. One of the downloads is a .zip file which I renamed to .rbz. SU8 won't recognise that either. It used to be that we needed to put the .rb files in a particular place and SU will just find them. Now I don't know what's happening. Can anyone help?

      I'm running SU8 on an iMac OSX10.6.8.

      Many thanks.

Copy the plugins in Macinthosh HD/Library/Application Support/Google SketchUp 8/SketchUp/plugins

          Seriously?

Your statement is simply false. SU8 does indeed recognize .rb files.

Show us a screen shot of your Plugins folder from Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Google SketchUp 8/SketchUp/Plugins.

Many thanks, guys. Looks like I just needed that reminder about where to locate the .rb files. You're right, Dave R. What I did was try to install the .rb files using Install Extension button inside the Extensions page of the Preferences menu. I was able, using that to open another folder in my computer but it doesn't recognise any of the .rb or .rbz files in those other folders. Transferring the files into the right folder solved all the issues, 😄.
