      Hello Guys,

I have a problem mapping material on surfaces which I imported model from .max file.
As you can see in the image. Anyone can suggest me how do I control direction of my map on the surface.

The image from the left is my model from Sketch up and the right is from Max.

Thank you very much for any comments,
      Peter

        Hi Peter,

No image there. Could you rather upload it to your post (edit it and under the posting area, there's an attachment tab).

For relatively flat (but curved) surfaces, projecting the material is the way to go.

Creata a rectangle that is above (or below) your surface, position the material on it to your liking (right click > Texture > Position) then right click > Texture > and now check "projected". You won't see much of a difference now but you can sample this projected material with the Alt+Paint tool > release the Alt button and paint the curved surface with the projected (and sampled) material.

Excellent! I was afraid that it would have needed some more elaboration...
