I am trying to import a model I created in Cinema 4D and exported as COLLADA .dae The original C4D model was organized by putting separate objects on different layers. When I import the model into Sketchup it comes in as one solid mesh with no layers. I've tried importing it back into C4D and all the layers are there, so it seems COLLADA can store layer info. Is there any way to get Sketchup to recognize the layers and bring them in with the corresponding geometry assigned to each layer? The workaround is to import each layer as a separate .dae file, and recreate the layer organization, then reassemble in Sketchup. Very time consuming.

      Thanks.
