      Hello All

I'm new to dynamic components and I've created a sizeable shaker style cabinet door that isn't working properly. The door is 10" wide x 10" high with options to change the width and height. When I adjust the width it seems to work but when I adjust the height the center panel and the top rail move out of alignment. I've attached the file - can someone please check my attributes and options and see where I've gone wrong? Also, does anyone know of websites, tutorials, etc for dynamic components for beginners? I appreciate any help.

      Thank you,
      woodwork 101

The width adjustment don't work too !
If you ask 20", the resized door will be 15" 😢

You have a multipart object, and in dynamic component, you must define the size and the place of each object inside the component or calculate with other values in the component.
For example, the "left stile" object always must be in x=2.5" (never move) an the "right stile" must be at the doors width minus 2.5, so x=shaker door!LenX-2.5"
The height of each (LenZ) must be equal to the door height, so LenZ=shaker door!LenZ

Same for the central panel. Its X never change like its Z, but the width (LenX) will be equal to the doors width minus 2*2.5" (left and right stiles) and same for the height.

Hope that helps you to start in DC

I wrote a plugin that will rescale your door call
          scaleGroupFloat_dj, try it, it's free.

I try it on your skp file and it work for me.

DareDevil - Thank you for your help I've got it working perfectly now. I can see how I can use this coding for other DC's as well.

dukejazz - Thank you for the info on your plugin, I haven't tried it yet but it looks great.

Once again thank you to both of you for your help and your quick responses.
