Latitude / Longitude Positioning

Hi,
I'm new to Sketchup & hope this is the correct forum to post my question:
I'd like to create 3d model of a city centre (Paris) in Cinema 4d, using a few different Sketchup models. When I import the models (collada format) into Cinema, they all snap to the "World Centre", i.e. "zero coordinates". Is there a way of positioning them according to their real world latitude / longitude?
I've tried importing them into Sketchup and position them there, then export them as a Collada. But that doesn't seem to work at all... don't know why!?
Does anyone know of a tutorial for this kind of problem?
It shouldn't be too hard to achieve this kind of thing, no?Thanks a lot!

I tried again, with different models – and it kind of works, though with a lot of flaws. (Sketchup 8, Mac OS)
When importing several different models from 3dWarehouse into Sketchup, some models snap into place just the way they should – with correct latitude & longitude co-ordinates. All good.
Some models need manual positioning – I guess whoever created those models didn't add any GPS data or co-ordinates. (Not complaining – it's free after all
However: With some models I noticed the following: As soon as I import them, I loose all previous models, and the enitre scene looks empty again... Is this a bug in Sketchup, or is it a problem with the models?
Anyway... all this is A LOT of trial & error when trying to import 20-30 models into one scene. (And each building has a lot of variations to chose from on 3dWarehouse ;(
On the 3dWarehouse website: Is it possible to tell which models have co-ordinates/GPS data embedded?

Collada ( the *.dae file itself) only contains the file definition. When exporting to kmz, there is a kml file in there which also contains the model location. (KMZ files are actually renamed ZIP files with a whole bunch of info and files inside).
