I wonder how the costs of deconstruction compare to the construction costs. There's maybe one advantage: it's easier to reuse or recycle materials than when turning it into a pile of debris.
Like with nuclear powerplants, proper deconstruction often hasn't been considered in the planning and the costs (and time) for nuclear powerplants easily exceed those of construction.
