Windows 8 wont show images of collection items

Trying to migrate plant material collections into new windows 8 comp but cannot get the images to show only the SU logo. w8 problem or operator issue?????

You have (probably) installed a 64bit version of Windows 8. Explorer can only use thumbnailers of the same architecture (64bit x86). You need an alternative thumbnailer, search the forum there are different solutions available (Mystic Thumbs, ruby scripts etc.).
