Material Browser Sample View Thumbnail Not Updating

Material Browser Sample View Thumbnail and Name Not Updating when I switch materials.
If I close the Material Browser and reopen it, the material will change to the current material, however it will continue to not update.
closing sketchup and restarting system has had no effect.
any ideas?
