Simple Artisan examples collection

Oh yes, that popped into my mind, too. Very cool!
(I may make some models for my wife - she loves Barcelona and Gaudi especially)

Tell me, an object like this, do you use mirrored components? When would you use mirrored components and how do you deal with the mirror plane?
I am supposing these examples are simple subdivision and smooth, mostly without sculpting?

These are simple geometries and I didn't use the mirror plane funtion.

They are all without sculpting, just subdivisions from the included proxies.

I am interested of the method of the colored mosaรฏc
Does this the Random Painter plugin by Chris Fullmer ? -

..now that is amazing...
I'm always very surprised by the results you guys achieve in modeling organic shapes lately. Impressive. Great model! -
I would say that chair is not so simple.. but it's amazing how elegantly all that is worked out from a proxy that is simpler than you'd expect. I find that by only observing this thread, each time I try Artisan is better and more fun.

Nice, thanks for sharing (if you like, you can add the proxy to play with ).
A little tip: you can use TIGs splitdonut (as a part of splittools) to improve the subdivision ...

Hey, cotty:
I really like your gallery. It is nice to see some of your examples in one place. I went through the whole collection. The lens refraction study was interesting. All of the examples are excellent -

Here's something of a rainy afternoon. An ode to mushroom season (what to avoid) and a "THANKS!" to Cotty. Not so elegant, but REALLY simple.
:I accidentally made a brush of it in GIMP, so I added some babies.

mmmm, donuts. Excellent! Thanks Cotty. I will edit the post so it shows a better proxy. I plan to do more mushrooms...

Hi,
I decided to be more serious about modelling... I think I might be on the right track and decided to share some models on the warehouse.
http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/search?uq=1106685347342413624736238&scoring=mI still need to understand why it's better to model with quads or tris only.
And how to do it.If anyone can explain this to me briefly, I'd be thankful!
