Running Sketchup Pro and Free simultaneously (Network Lic)
-
Hello everyone,
I have a question regarding a Network license for Sketchup Pro.
I work in an office where we have Sketchup Free installed on everyone's computer. If they need a feature that is only available in Pro, they use a seat from our Network license.
My question is: can they upgrade their free version to Pro using the network license, or do they have to uninstall free, install pro, and then activate it with the network license?
Will they have to then uninstall the pro and then download free again once they are done with pro?
Thank you for any help.

I do not exactly know how network licenses work at the moment but you cannot have SU free and Pro installed on the same computer. They are practically the same program - with some additional tools for the Pro version.
So I guess it would be a tedious workflow keeping to install/uninstall the two versions.
Previously, if there was no available license on the network (or even single installation of the Pro version), it fell back to the free version making it an ideal tool for such offices as they only needed to buy a few seats. I guess this is exactly why they changed this behaviour - to encourage sales...
