Modeling a Fishing trawler

To try and learn how to improve my poor sketchup & photoshop skill!!!!
To model a fishng trawler and have it looking half way deccent as present for my dad.
One of the things that concerns me the most is how to create realistic water.
Does anyone know of any good tutorials for this part???
Or any other tutorials that would be of use ?
all advice greatly appreciated.

The water is easy enough. Look into ANY of the rendering plugins. Kerkythea is free and works well. There are others with free trials. My personal favorite is Thea, but everyone has their own favorites

Yes definitely, I was going to suggest have a look at all of his threads - some absolutely fantastic work. Very inspirational.
