Reducing thickness
-
Hello there,
Imagine I have a simple rail group extruded from a curved double bezier closed on both ends with an arc.
Later on during the design of the model this rail is inserted into I decide that the thickness of this rail is no adequate and I want to make it thinner.
What would be the best way to go about it?
I tried the default offset tool inwards and then finish the lines to make a new face and then I de-extrude the excess thickness but this method seems so cumbersome and I suspect it can't be used everywhere or in every situation.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Peter -
as far as i know the better method is using some curviloft/tig estrusion tools, depending on the shape, making sure to keep the original geometry instead of deleting it, so that if you need further tweaking/editing you can redraw the thing quite fast. i find in this case is much easier to redrav than rscale/fix/cleanup etc..
