SketchUP AVI file

Hello All,
Can someone tell me, why can't i upload a SketchUP AVI file, into Adobe premiere elements 11 or Sony Movie studio platinum 12? I keep getting an Error message “This type of file is not supported, or the codec is not installed” the strange thing is, I do have Xvid codec installed on my system... -

maybe there is a code missing. Try the free Windows 7 Codec Pack. You did not mention your
windows version.Charly
