I noticed since the new forum design (great work by the way) pages for me anyway load very slow taking up to 30 seconds or more with ads showing, w/o very quick just wondering how to remedy this as this is the only place I like to see the ads and wondering why no one else has mentioned it.

I can confirm on my side that there is a slight difference with AD block on and off.

I'll third that, there is a distinct pause.

It took 2.2 sec to me to download this page with ads now. Measured with Firefox and YSlow. Forum pages never took more than 4 secs. To me the 30 secs sounds like there are some other problems.

I get similar response times to Gábor.
              No major issues or complaints...
The initial SCF site load is slightly longer than that of a SCF page-change or page-refresh - I assume this is because there are lots of things to resolve initially, and that is then 'cached' for subsequent reuse with new pages opened on the same site ?
The results are very similar on Firefox, Chrome or IE.
Note that I have hardware acceleration 'off' in Options for Firefox because this has some know issues - but mainly with playing videos [?].
I have Adblock loading BUT disabled for SCF on all of my browsers...

Yes, the CMS part is slightly slower (max. 5-6 secs for the largest page load there for me) that is because caching there still needs to be fine-tuned. I'm sure it will be done in the near future and it will result similar page load times what we have at the forums now (not to speak about lower server load as a result).

I tried to post a reply yesterday right after solo on a computer on a corporate network with a hardware firewall to mention that there was a noticeable delay and that I was not using any other adblock setting in Firefox. I don't see it here.

Anyway, opening this reply page for this reply took about thirty seconds. Only the top of the page was visible.
Maybe this message will get through.

Tim, we definitely need to look into this. Sometimes (also FF I think) the browser gives a suggestion (somewhere at the bottom?) what it is trying to load. If you could get that message...

I don't know that I will be able to do this within the next 72 hours. It depends on some other work related things I have to do. Gaieus, as you may recall that recent PM I sent related to that little box down on the left.
As always, you have to rule out that the problem could still be on my side of the equation after factoring out my own limitations. 😆

EDIT: " Only the top of the page was visible" Should have said immediately visible. The reply form did display after some time and I posted. Does this remove any concern?

I do not know yet, Tim. We shall see (as it's definitely worth some investigation) but then again, I am not a programmer myself either.

                          Hi, Gaieus:
I was able to take a moment. I am at work on the computer in question and there seems to be primarily a delay in accessing the Forum main page and the transition from the Reply button.
Let's see with this message if there is a problem with submit.

EDIT: Evidently not. Seems to be working now. The little box at the bottom left didn't show anything unusual when it was slow enough to read.
