Change diameter of pipe
-
OK. Forget about ring. That confuses. You have a straight pipe, and wanna change its diameter.
-
As Pilou says.
But most likely you have a problem, if you want the pipe to end up the same length and same ending points or connection. That is if you just want to change the pipe diameter and nothing else.
I would think the quickest solution is to redraw the pipe the way you created it in the first place, with follow-me or some plugin. If I were REALLY attached to keeping an object like this I might use FredoScale on the rings (because that will automatically orient to each ring), but I wouldn't want to do that on something that is very long.

@Pbacot : sorry i was editing my message when you have sent yours, so Fredo Scale will appear ones again

Seems Scale tools + CTRL on x
then Scale tools + CTRL on y
by the same coeficient makes the trick ?
But with the Fredo Scale by Fredo 6
More practical when pieces are in any orientation direction in the space -

Exactly, that is what I speak about. I use Fredo Scale tools! Ingenious tools! But this does not solve the diameter. I have moved the the pipe rings and set them in exact position and angle, and don't want to move them. So I wanted to change the diameter. If I would redraw them, then it would take the time to set the exact position and angle because the rings are joined like chain. And they are joined in exact position to fit holes of objects... So I decided rather to extend the hole, to me more wide, so the pipe will fit the ring. Fredo's scratching tool helped here to do it.

If I select a ring I can scale the diameter in the same position and angle (on the same center point) using FredoScale.

But that sounds more reasonable. If I had a bunch of pipe in reality and it didn't fit the end connectors, I'd get new connectors! (provided the pipe was correct size for the plumbing).

Thanks Pilou! JPP didn't occur to me! Looks like it works well. Excellent.

Another solution is to use the Joint Push Pull by Fredo 6!
With press TAB you have different options for the PushPull multiple
Some of them don't draw the start face!
So select all faces (= selection)
Apply the Joint PushPull
Kill the selection! So you have your new pipe

Thanks. This is also awesome plugin!
