What's this called. Showing my ignorance

I saw this in the new artisan manual and had a hell of a time trying to create it. I rotate copy the first pentagon off the x,y axes to a what I thought was 108 deg I don't know where I came up with that and array copied that to finish the bottom half. That first copy was a compound angle that took me an hour honing into the right deg to get them to match them up properly so what was the formula or proper way to figure those angles ?
