Import .dxf plugin for free version

Hi. I am new to sketch up and sketchucation. I recently printed my first two models. I am looking for a way to create shapes quickly in illustrator export them as .dxf and be able to open them up in sketchup. The last plugin I tried didn't work for this. Any advice or links to working plug ins would be greatly appreciated.

Huhu that is the disadvantage to use new version of SU free!
You will find free old version here (scroll the page) version take the V6 (it has more functions of file format than the V7, V8 free)
It has DXF import inside!
