I'm back! What have I missed?!

The last conversations we were having were on Urban Farming. Were you able to proceed on that Oli?

Hi Dale, yes everything went great with that although I had to defer my last module until March. I was juggling so many different responsibilities I just needed the time off to sort my life out. So I'm not a fully qualified arhcitect yet, just a year to go now.

I am a great believer in having as many skills as possible, and it looks like you aren't having difficulty with that judging from those pics. Do you do it all, mechanical, body and Paint?
I also believe that you get a better outcome when you put one foot in front of the other and go where the path, and heart lead.
Good on you Oli -

Welcome back, Oli. To be truly sincere, I was thinking that something worse happened.
But I didn't had the guts to ask. Glad everything is fine now.Trust me when I go I'm going out with a bang!! You won't have to ask!
With regards to tree lines I have a massive new collection I'm working on...so keep an eye out. I was surprised the current tree lines had tens of thousands of downloads!! If only I charged Β£1 per download
Well here's what I've been up to:
I've been busy with other opportunities outside of architecture/3D work. I started my own business with my brother trading and customizing BMWs, it's always been a passion of ours and we kept getting enquiries from potential customers after seeing the quality of our work, so yeah we registered a company and got cracking! I know it probably won't interest most of you but here are some photos of a couple of jobs we've worked on and my own personal project car. Funny how life can throw so many opportunities at you even when you think it can't get any worse. I'm certainly not ditching architecture and design, this is just a side project that we enjoy and helps pays the bills!
I also went on a fantastic skiing holiday in March to Zermatt in Switzerland, I will post photos in another thread because the images are just breathtaking. I did a great panorama image at 12,000 feet up a mountain! I've just got so much to talk about I don't know where to start!!!

Good on you OliI do most of the body work but we commission an expert 3rd party for the technical OEM retrofits/electrics such as xenon headlights, integrated sat nav and media, cruise control etc..we can basically offer people original BMW extras that BMW themselves will not retrofit to their cars. The amount of people who have rang me saying "oh i really regret not specifying xenons" is unbelievable, so they come to us. I was the first person in the UK to retrofit xenons into the 1 series coupe and all other derivatives, BMW refuse to do this job for some strange reason and everyone thought it was impossible, mwahh ha ha ha! When we trade cars we also offer all the factory extras at the point of sale, so we keep our customers even when they have driven away. Also offer full drivetrain modifications, suspensions setups, limited slip differentials ( ), engine remapping and tuning.
I learnt a long time ago that if you do something you enjoy you will always succeed, even just within yourself.

Thanks Solo it means a lot you use my resources!
I actually have around 30 urban lines You can actually use them as IBL but I don't know how to convert them to be spherical....yet. I will release them all when they are SU/render friendly.
In thea, I use the urban/tree line as a spherical IBL (or maybe hemi, cant remember)...and then replace background with the actual urban/tree line (all within thea, does that make sense?)
Couple of new panoramics here:

Hi Jason,
Yeah it's simply heaven on earth...I have hours and hours of wide angle video I need to condense so will share them eventually. Next time you are there let me know, but you are a snowboarder so I would have to ski a bit slower I used to go every year but work/life got in the way so it was amazing to finally get back there, going again in december for new year and feb/march. I'm addicted again!!
edit: I love your video Jason, just had time to fully enjoy it. I see you filmed with a contour HD, so handy having a bullet cam isn't it. I took my Vio POV HD and the quality is simply outstanding, even got a video from inside a helicopter over the matterhorn, I just need to edit literally 50 hours of footage!!

Beautiful work on the BMW. I haven't been on here that long, but welcome back.
I'm a car nut by the way, so I can really appreciate your work. My avatar picture is from Rennsport reunion at Laguna Seca. It was a huge Porsche event, with just about every year of P-car racing, including several 917k cars. They also had the 918rsr on display......good fun!

Hey Oli,
I must say I'm not always very present myself on the forum but I still had noticed your absence...
So hopefully everything's now sorted out fine for you and well I'm glad to have fresh news: glad to see you back!Take care,
Nicolas -
Oli, just like you I wasn't present here for a year or two, came back somewhen last week and read a lot to catch up. Now I stand here (kind of like in your footprints, if I may) resonating emotionally to your thread. Isn't this the most warmhearted community ever? Have seen some, but nothing comparable to what I find here at SCF. It's so good to see you (and all of you) back again. In the end being here frequently and learning so much from you guys in the past has given me the courage to now change to architectural and interior projects. (long story short: I got tired of showbusiness and propaganda and they got tired of me) ...can't be thankful enough.
btw nice cars!
