Exporting animation
-
Hello everyone...
Having issues with size of video while exporting. I want the video size to be 600x 450. When I go to export and click on "options" I am able to change the size. Then I go into Flash and import... and also change the file size there. It shows the first scene as the correct size but it is cropped. Is this a Sketch-Up question or Flash?
cheers...

Twingi, since SU can only export either 4:3 (which your 600x450 actually is) or 16:9 aspect ratio, your visible SketchUp window area may not be this exact aspect ratio. You need to somehow count this difference or use a nifty little Windows application, "sizer" to get your window to the desired size (not exact size but also you need to take the UI into consideration).
Her is how my window looks like when I resize it with this app:
Now of course, resizing your SU window may seriously screw up your toolbars, so I suggest using this plugin to hide them first (and calculate the necessary area this way instead of the way I am doing in the screenshot). Now what you see in the SU work area is what you get in the movie.

Gai...
Thanks for the response. I just exporting using the 16:9 ratio. It looks fine when I preview in Quick-time. So I hope that settles matters in sketch-Up... now how will things work out in Flash?
thanks again...

I have no idea about that as have never used Flash for animations.
Note that you can always export to image sequences (just change the avi file type to a static image and make sure to export them in a separate folder). Maybe your flash app can handle those better (no transcoding and all that stuff needed)
